Hammocks
Our hammock area is available for groups to sleep in, and is ideal for those groups wanting something a little bit different.

The hammocks area is located in our beautiful wood, to the left as you face the wood from the Bradshaw field and head down towards the stream. It's ideal as an extra to your regular camp or indoor residential.

The hammock area is set up in the Bradshaw wood and consists of space to erect up to 20 hammocks. Hammocks are strictly one per person, per night. We also provide tarpaulins to cover the hammocks, allowing their use in wet weather too. Groups will need to erect and take down the hammocks, but this is very simple and full instructions are provided.

The hammock area does not have any catering facilities, however there is a campfire area and picnic benches, as well as a patrol cooking space. There is access to a drinking water tap.

The hammock area has no toilet facilities, however a camp toilet can be provided. Groups will need to maintain this and empty it at the end of their visit. There is the facility to dispose of chemical toilet waste.
The main toilet block is on the Deer Park site, across the road. |

The hammock area has no shower facilities, but these are available on the Deer Park site.

The hammock area has no additional hard shelter or electricity.

Parking for groups using the hammock area is in the Deer Park site car park.

The hammock area is a little bit of tranquility away from the hustle and bustle of life!

prices & booking conditions
Please note, you are booking the hammock area of the wood only so there may be others in the wood during your stay. If you want sole use of the wood then this would need booking in addition to booking the hammock area.
Prices vary depending on whether your group is from Girlguiding Gloucestershire, another youth group or non-profit, or from another organisation. Please check the most up to date fees on the prices page.
You can view the availability of your chosen accommodation online and request a booking via our Hallmaster booking system.
For outdoor residentials, arrivals are after 2pm and departure is by 12 noon. Groups booking beyond these times will be charged the sessional rate for the additional time booked.
All groups staying overnight at Cowley Adventure must have DBS checks in place for the adults in the group.
